Índice de cosecha en Cannabis sativa: formulación cuantitativa y análisis de factores de cultivo

Definitions, conversion between fresh and dry mass, and the requirements of a comparable experimental design for the harvest index of Cannabis sativa.

Abstract

This note proposes an operational definition of the harvest index of Cannabis sativa inflorescences and a protocol for comparing its calculation on a fresh-mass and a dry-mass basis. It sets out the fractions included, the treatment of moisture and the algebraic relation between the two bases.

Using simulated examples, it shows that the dry index may rise, fall or stay the same depending on the relative loss of mass in flowers and in other organs. It presents a design for studying environment and container volume, with attention to the experimental unit, replication and pseudoreplication.

It contains no results from the proposed trial and sets no universal ranges. Its contribution is methodological: to improve the comparability of the indicator and to distinguish biomass allocation, absolute yield and product quality.
